Store Clerk/Technician (Part-Time)
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable, customer-focused Store Clerk & Technician to join our mobility equipment team. This hybrid role combines front-of-house customer service with hands-on technical work, including small electronic repairs, battery diagnostics, and equipment handling. The ideal candidate is friendly, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service & Sales
- Greet customers with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide knowledgeable assistance.
- Help customers select mobility products, accessories, and replacement parts.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming showroom environment.
- Process sales transactions, returns, and service requests accurately.
- Technical & Repair Duties
- Diagnose and perform minor repairs on mobility equipment, including scooters, power chairs, lifts, and small electronics.
- Test, replace, and install mobility batteries (AGM, gel, lithium, etc.).
- Assemble, disassemble, and troubleshoot equipment following safety guidelines.
- Document repair work, parts used, and service outcomes.
- Store Operations
- Move, lift, and stage mobility equipment and furniture—must be able to lift 50–75 lbs consistently.
- Assist with inventory management, stocking shelves, and receiving shipments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in both customer-facing and back-room areas.
- Support team members with daily store tasks and special projects.
- Complete and/or assist with deliveries.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Clean driving record and reliable transportation.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Basic knowledge of small electronics, wiring, and battery systems—or willingness to learn quickly.
- Ability to safely lift and move 50–75 lbs repeatedly throughout the workday.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn new repair techniques, product lines, and mobility technologies.
- Ability to move and rearrange furniture and large equipment as needed.
- Experience in mobility equipment, medical devices, electronics repair, or related fields.
- Retail or customer service experience.
- Familiarity with mobility batteries, chargers, and power systems.
