About the Speaker:
Michael Dawson M.A. LPC
Mike spent 25 years in the food business with a Fortune 500 company doing $20 billion in sales and over 30,000 employees. Through various positions he had responsibilities for over 40 employees, $500 million in sales, and $25 million in gross profits.
In 2003 Fleming went into bankruptcy, was sold off and liquidated. This was the springboard for Mike to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. He earned his Master of Arts degrees in Marriage and Family Counseling and in Christian Education at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Mike experienced first hand the stress, conflict, poor relationships and lack of purpose many people suffered in their daily lives during his twenty-five years of corporate business. He believes we have been created with an inherent significance and value as well as being made for relationship. Mike desires to help clients gain a better understanding of themselves, and develop genuine relationships with God and others. His business career, strong marriage and his personal life experiences provide insight in order to help individuals and couples with practical daily challenges and stress regarding work, home and other social relationships. He deals with the whole person in their thinking, emotions and behaviors, as well as their physical and spiritual well being; all which lead to more satisfying, successful living. In addition to counseling Mike enjoys speaking to both secular and religious groups.
Mike has been married for over twenty-five years to Susan who works in the banking industry. They have one daughter, Lauren who works in hospitality and country clubs. His personal interests include travel, reading, speaking, financial markets and teaching the Bible. He is an active member and volunteer at his Church and is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
