The Producers at GLCT

The Greater Lewisville Community Theatre proudly announces the opening of the great Mel Brooks musical, The Producers, directed by award-winning choreographer Eddie Floresca. Run dates of this hilarious, big production show are July 10-August 2 with performances Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. The Producers is a musical about a musical, a show within a show...except the musical being produced is written by a Nazi about his hero, Hitler...and, the objective of the production is failure. Producer Max Bialystock, whose specialty is seducing rich little old ladies, takes on a repressed, yearning-to-break-free accountant, Leo Bloom, as apprentice producer in the quest to fund and mount the show, Springtime for Hitler. The music is great, the jokes are as fresh as they are old, most of the chorus girls are beautiful, and the material, which respects no taboos, is pure Mel Brooks at his finest. GLCT is located at 160 W. Main St. in Old Town Lewisville. The entrance and parking are in the rear off of Elm Street.
