The Last Night of Ballyhoo
Greater Lewisville Community Theatre proudly presents The Last Night of Ballyhoo, directed by Flower Mound resident Harry R. Friedman. Ballyhoo runs December 2-18 with performances Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. This 1997 Tony Award-winning play ? penned by Alfred Uhry, author of Driving Miss Daisy ? takes place in Atlanta, Georgia, in December of 1939. Hitler seems remote to most of the Freitag family: complacent, long-established, well-to-do Southern Jews of German heritage. As they trim their Christmas tree they are much more concerned with the world premiere of "Gone with the Wind" and who is going to Ballyhoo, the social event of the season. GLCT is located at 160 W. Main St. in Old Town Lewisville. The entrance and parking are in the rear off of Elm Street. Tickets are $20 for Adults and $18 for 65 and over and 18 and under. Information and online ticketing is available at www.GLCT.org or call the (972) 221-SHOW (7469). Discounted season tickets are available as well.
