NOVEMBER by David Mamet
The Greater Lewisville Community Theatre proudly presents the satiric comedy November by David Mamet, opening October 21 and running through November 6 with performances Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. The production, directed by Ben Phillips, is a special engagement and not part of the 2016-2017 Season. It's November in a presidential election year, and incumbent Charles Smith's chances for reelection are looking grim. Approval ratings are down, his money's running out, and nuclear war might be imminent. Though his staff has thrown in the towel and his wife has begun to prepare for her post-White House life, Chuck isn't ready to give up just yet. With Mamet's characteristic no-holds-barred style, November is a scathingly hilarious take on the state of America today and the lengths to which people will go to win. It’s hard to imagine an election season more bizarre than the one we are in, but the cast of characters in this dark comedy will have you laughing all the way to the polling place. The show is rated R for strong language, but don’t let that stop you from enjoying a very entertaining evening! GLCT is located at 160 W. Main St. in Old Town Lewisville. The entrance and parking are in the rear off of Elm Street. All tickets for November are $25. Call for reservations (recommended) at (972) 221-SHOW (7469). Discounted season tickets are available as well. Additional information is available at www.GLCT.org.
