Moon Over Buffalo
Lewisville Playhouse is proud to present Ken Ludwig’s Moon Over Buffalo as the opening production of its 40th Anniversary Season. The hilarious farce, directed by Cade Butler, runs September 8-24 with performances Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. In the madcap comedy tradition of Lend Me A Tenor, the Moon Over Buffalo centers on George and Charlotte Hay, fading stars of the 1950s. At the moment, they’re playing Private Lives and Cyrano De Bergerac in repertory in Buffalo, New York with 5 actors. Down on their luck doesn’t begin to describe it. But the great movie director Frank Capra is coming to town to see their matinee, and if he likes what he sees, he just might cast them in his movie remake of The Scarlet Pimpernel. Naked ambition takes over as George and Charlotte do everything in their power to make Capra love them. Lewisville Playhouse (formerly GLCT) is located at 160 W. Main St. in Old Town Lewisville. The entrance is in the rear off Elm Street. Tickets are $25 for Adults and $20 for 65 and over and 18 and under. Information and online ticketing is available at www.lewisvilleplayhouse.org or call the box office at (972) 221-SHOW (7469).
