Animal Shelter grand opening celebration set for June 30
The public is invited to attend the grand opening for the new City of Lewisville Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, to be held Saturday, June 30, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the new facility at 995 E. Valley Ridge.
The formal opening ceremony and dedication will be held at the start of the event, shortly after 9 a.m. Vendors, information booths and other activities will continue until 2 p.m.
The new shelter is located on 2.5 acres near the banks of the Trinity River, across from the north entrance of Toyota of Lewisville Railroad Park and in easy walking distance from the Lewisville Dog Park. The building is roughly three times the size of the city's current animal shelter, which was built in the early 1970s.
