GLCT Opens 2015-2016 Season with EVITA
The Greater Lewisville Community Theatre proudly announces the opening of the great musical drama, Evita, directed by award-winning director Bill Sizemore. Run dates are September 25-October 18 with performances Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Evita, with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, is the true story of Eva Perón and is set in Argentina in the first half of the last century. Evita?s story was made for Sir Lloyd Webber?s style ? rags to riches and larger than life. From poverty to First Lady of Argentina and ?saint to the working class?, Eva Perón left a political legacy for Webber to translate through his exuberant music using Latin, jazz, and pop influences. Evita is an arresting theatrical portrait as complex as the woman herself. GLCT is located at 160 W. Main St. in Old Town Lewisville. The entrance and parking are in the rear off of Elm Street. Tickets for Evita are $22 for adults and $18 for 65 & over or 18 & under. Call for reservations (recommended) at (972) 221-SHOW (7469). Season tickets for the entire 2015-2016 season are on sale as well. Additional information is available at www.GLCT.org.
