Electronics Collection Day
City of Lewisville will hold a special electronics collection day to kick off its expanded electronics recycling program on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Residential Convenience Center, 330 W. Jones Street.
This special collection is for electronics only. No household hazardous waste (paint, chemicals, motor oil, etc.) will be accepted at this event. Lewisville residents should save those products for the regular collections held the second Saturday of each month. Beginning in October, televisions will be accepted along with other electronics and household hazardous waste at the regular collections.
Items accepted include: Televisions, computers and accessories (desktops, laptops, mice, keyboards, webcams, speakers, microphones, etc.), printers, copiers, fax machines, computer monitors, small appliances and devices (microwaves, space heaters, telephone equipment, boom boxes, etc.), video equipment, cables, wires, power cords, power strips, typewriters cell phones, chargers, GPS units and pagers.
Items not accepted include: Large appliances (stoves, washers, dryers, dishwashers); products that contain Freon, PCBs, or refrigerants of any kind (freezers, refrigerators, air conditioners); materials containing liquids; propane tanks; gas-powered equipment; radioactive materials (smoke detectors); and household hazardous waste materials (chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, paint, motor oil, etc.).
