CCA's "Re-opening Celebration" of the Pantry
The Christian Community Action (CCA) Food Pantry, at 200 South Mill in Lewisville, has been under-going a complete renovation since late summer and is re-opening October 18th! The public is welcome to come see the remodeled Food Pantry during the re-opening celebration.
CCA expanded the Food Pantry to provide an increase in fresh fruit, vegetables and meat options. CCA will be able to provide a larger variety of healthy food selections through our partnership with the North Texas Food Bank.
Preserving the dignity of CCA clients is paramount at CCA, and their experience at the Food Pantry is integral to that mission. CCA’s Food Pantry is a self- selection grocery store that serves more than 27,400 family visits yearly. With more than 40% of their food needs provided at the Food Pantry, CCA clients are able to reserve their household income for essentials such as rent, utilities, childcare and healthcare.
More than 150,000 Denton county residents experience some level of food insecurity every year. CCA is committed to helping alleviate hunger in our communities.
