Old Town Lewisville will be filled with staged gunfights, stick horse rodeo riders, world champion competitive eaters, gourmet chefs, Old West artifacts, 5K runners, and the best of Texas country music during the 2013 Western Days festival on Sept. 27-28.
The festival is free with a ticket. Visitors to the festival website, LewisvilleWesternDays.com, can print as many tickets as they need and present those tickets at the festival gates for free admission. Those entering the festival without a ticket (in paper form or presented on the screen of a phone or other electronic device) must pay $20 at the gate. Free tickets also are available through entertainment sponsor 99.5 The Wolf, and at most Lewisville municipal facilities.
Festival schedule is 7-11:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, and 10 a.m.-11:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28. Planned activities at the event, designed to showcase Lewisville’s rich history and tradition, include four live stages, arts and craft vendors, car show, cooking demonstrations, the Stonecutter Shuffle 5K run, a world-class exhibit of Old West artifacts inside the Gallery at MCL Grand, and two city blocks dedicated just to fun things for the kids.
There also will be more than 100 festival vendors offering a variety of wares, from hand-crafted treasures to top-quality retail products. The Western Market will be open throughout the festival on Main and Church streets.
Off-site parking will be available at Vista Ridge Village Shopping Center (FM 3040 at Interstate 35E) and the Old Town and Hebron stations of the DCTA A-train. Free shuttles will carry visitors between the parking lots and the festival zone.
