DESCRIPTION:Greater Lewisville Community Theatre proudly presents The Beauty Queen of Leenane directed by Kenny Green and running February 3-19 with performances Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Set in the mountains of Connemara\, Ireland\, this is a darkly comic tale of Maureen Folan\, a plain and lonely woman in her early 40s\, and Mag\, her manipulative\, aging mother. Mag's interference in Maureen's first\, and possibly final\, chance of a loving relationship sets in motion a train of events that leads inexorably toward the play's terrifying end. It was the co-winner of the 1998 Lucille Lortel Award for outstanding play. GLCT is located at 160 W. Main St. in Old Town Lewisville. The entrance and parking are in the rear off of Elm Street. Tickets are $20 for Adults and $18 for 65 and over and 18 and under. Information and online ticketing is available at www.GLCT.org or call the box office at (972) 221-SHOW (7469).
