SUMMARY:God of Carnage
DESCRIPTION:Greater Lewisville Community Theatre is thrilled to present the dark comedy. God of Carnage\, by Yasmina Reza and translated by Christopher Hampton. The show runs February 7-23 under the direction of Dena Dunn. A playground altercation between eleven-year-old boys brings together two sets of Brooklyn parents for a meeting to resolve the matter. At first\, diplomatic niceties are observed\, but as the meeting progresses\, and the rum flows\, tensions emerge and the gloves come off\, leaving the couples with more than just their liberal principles in tatters. Winner of the 2009 Tony Award\, this streamlined anatomy of the human animal is a cathartic study of the tension between civilized surface and savage instinct. "Reza cannily manipulates social observations" with "characters that bring out the best in actors." - NY Newsday. GLCT is located at 160 W. Main St. in Old Town Lewisville. The entrance and parking are in the rear off of Elm Street. Tickets are $25 for Adults and $20 for 65 and over and 18 and under. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Information and online ticketing is available at www.GLCT.org or call the box office at (972) 221-SHOW (7469).
